The Al-Anabi Racing team had an exceptional outing at the recent ADRL Summer Drags at the U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Mich., sweeping the two top categories on the circuit: Alex Hossler and his supercharged Camaro in Pro Extreme, and Steve Jackson and his nitrous-fed Camaro in Pro Nitrous. Both race cars are equipped with Neal Chance Racing Converters to help propel them to victory circle.
Hossler recorded his first series victory of the year after qualifying No. 1 with a stout 3.594 at 209.71 mph from the Neal Chance NXS Full-Billet converter-equipped machine, which led the field by nearly two-hundredeths of a second. Hossler marched his way through eliminations, where he ultimately met follow Neal Chance racer Tommy D’Aprile in the final round. There, he used another quick 3.59-second pass at 210.48 mph, guided by crew chiefs Frank Manzo and Billy Stocklin, to outpace D’April’s game 3.65.
In Pro Nitrous, former grudge racer and standout radial tire racer “Stevie Fast” Jackson, new to the wheel of a three-second doorslammer this season, collected his second win on the season at Martin, using his Neal Chance Billet lock Up converter in his ’68 Camaro.
Jackson qualified No. 4 with a stellar 3.804. In the final round, alongside Tommy Franklin, the Georgian clicked off a 3.834 at 192.58 mph to best the 3.90 posted by the quicker-leaving Franklin. Adding some flare to the story, Jackson did it without any brakes, as he lost the brakes upon staging and made the pass anyway.
